Commencement Week Activities 2022

Greetings Howard University College of Dentistry Alumni:

Congratulations to the Class of 1972, on their 50th Reunion. The College looks forward to celebrating with them during the College Commencement Week Activities and on the 141st Anniversary of the College's founding.

We especially wish to recognize the Reunion Classes of 52, 57, 62, 67, 72, 77, 82, 87, 92, 97, 02, 07, 12, and 17. It will be exciting to have you back home to reunite with classmates, rediscover your alma mater and reminisce about your days at the College.

The College Commencement Week Activities Committee will host the Victor L. Hancock, DDS, Symposium with Breakfast, and Alumni Luncheon, on Thursday, May 5, 2022, in your honor.

Registration will open on Tuesday, March 3, 2022, until May 2, 2022. Tickets for the Symposium, Breakfast, and Luncheon are available at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/victor-l-hancock-dds-symposium-breakfast-and-alumni-luncheon-tickets-278164987967.

Breakfast and Symposium Check-In opens at 8:15 a.m., 1st floor of the College. Breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and the Symposium will begin at 9:15 a.m. We are excited to have two HUCD Alum speakers:

· Lisa Slade, D.D.S., Assistant Professor, College of Dentistry, a Howard Alumni Class of 1987, presenting on “An Update and Review of Obturation in Nonsurgical Endodontic Treatment.”

· Michelle Thompson, D.D.S., Assistant Professor and Director of Digital Dentistry at the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston (UTSD), Howard Alumni Class of 2012presenting on “Integrating CAD/CAM into the Predoctoral Curriculum and Clinical Practice.

The Alumni Luncheon will be held at the College. During this time, there will be a Program honoring Alumni and Distinguished Faculty Awardees.

The Dental Hygiene Candle Lighting Pinning, and Oath Ceremony will take place on Friday, May 6, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the College.

The Honors and Awards Ceremony for the Senior Dental and Dental Hygiene will be held in Cramton Auditorium on Friday, May 6, 2022, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
